About this calculator

Enter the loan amount, rate and tenure. The calculator uses the reducing-balance method banks use. If a dealer quotes a flat rate, convert it first on the interest-rates page or use the flat-rate calculator.

Two-Wheeler Loan EMI Calculator

Formula: EMI = P × r × (1 + r)^n ÷ ((1 + r)^n − 1), where P is the loan, r the monthly rate (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n the number of months.

Frequently asked questions

Should I choose a longer tenure to cut the EMI?

Only if the EMI is otherwise unaffordable. On ₹1 lakh at 11%, stretching from 3 to 5 years cuts the EMI by about ₹1,100 but adds about ₹12,595 in interest.

Is the first EMI due a month after delivery?

Usually yes, but some dealer schemes collect one or two EMIs in advance, which raises the effective rate.
